Hello! I will continue the expansion out in the barn and need to brace the diagonal struts. The idea is to integrate it into the flooring, the green line on the image, to be able to utilize the space above. I have received the advice to place 195×45 on each side of the post. Fastened to the standing beams in the outer wall. This is sufficient as there is only tension, no downward weight.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? A load-bearing wall will be built in the middle that the joists can rest on.

Hi, I think that @justusandersson or @bossespecial are some of the few who can answer that question, but they might be on Christmas break...
 
It is flattering to be mentioned in such fine company. I don't dare to have an opinion without having seen a more comprehensive picture. It might be good to know that most barns, despite looking like homemade constructions, often have real templates in the form of type drawings.
