Advice needed: Metallic gutters year 2009
Hello forum,
It's time for new gutters, etc. The current ones from '63 have given up. I replaced one last year with a new nice black one just like before, but I've changed my mind. I want METAL COLORED ones.
The question is what to buy. I'm not particularly picky about the exact shade; I think the visual improvement will be significant regardless.
So, zinc-plated, galvanized, powder-coated, or steel?
Price versus quality will be decisive as usual, but it's a small house, maybe 30 meters of gutter and 4 downpipes. As usual, it's the hooks and bends that cost.
And they should be 100-wide gutters.
Tips on surface treatment and manufacturer are VERY gratefully received!
Hugs from Uppsala / Dan

What color are you looking for? Different metals have different colors. If you mean galvanized, Lindab sells it. Even aluzink is unpainted. Then there's copper, stainless steel, and zinc which are also unpainted.
Aluzink is probably the cheapest in relation to durability. If you know someone with a business, take them and buy directly from Lindab, as the building supply stores tend to add quite a bit to their prices.

I have been looking at Plannja's examples now. Aluzink feels like the obvious choice, everything else is somewhat nicer in itself, but my house should feel fresh, straight, and clean, not like an exhibition piece.
Any tips on manufacturers maybe?
I have seen Plannja, Lindab, and Aco Nordic. And regarding price, I have good contact with my lumberyard (oddly enough, my lumberyard likes cheerful small retailers, maybe a nice break from all the grumpy professional customers).

I have never seen Lindabs so I don't know. But on Lindabs website, they don't have zinc, only silver-painted.
But I've stopped being surprised about roof drainage. No one knows anything or wants to help/sell. It drives you crazy.
