Hello!

We have a house from the 1930s. The staircase is from that time and leads between the entrance floor and the upper floor.

We are going to renovate a part of the house and plan to do the staircase at the same time. The wood paneling in the picture on the walls will be painted solid white. We also plan to paint the risers and the stringers white and just leave the treads as they are. Unfortunately, they are not completely bare wood but have gotten some paint on them at some point in time. How would you have done it? Painted or not? Grateful for opinions before we decide and get started.
