Hello!
I plan to add 45mm insulation. The existing wall has 95mm vertical studs. I'm planning to build horizontal 45mm studs at 600mm centers. Plastic inside the 45mm layer to create an installation shaft. However, I'm not sure how to properly set the bottom and top stud. Initially, I thought of using a simple sill and header, but that would create a thermal bridge at the bottom. Additionally, it would look odd if I place the bottom 45mm stud above the existing sill, about 50-70mm from the floor.
I would appreciate some input on exactly what/how I should do this. //charl
