12mm Plywood + 6mm Gypsum on Exterior Wall?
hello!
*****'
on the inside of the outer wall, it should say...
******
I've searched a bit and read, but haven't really found the answer I'm looking for. We are about to redo our rooms, mainly considering soundproofing between walls (currently C-C 60 and single plasterboard without insulation...) partly to get rid of the single plasterboard in the walls so it's easier to screw things up.
Now to the "problem" (in the partition walls, it's just to go ahead, i.e., plywood + plasterboard) BUT, in the outer walls we have the issue of the radiators, and to minimize bending the pipes, I was thinking if it could work to put plywood + renovation plasterboard? Then it only adds 6 mm more than what the plasterboard does today...
Has anyone done something similar? The house is from -88, so it's straight... not crooked.. and flat, nice "lifeless" walls work just fine.

I think it sounds like an unreasonable amount of work if it's just to make it easier to hang pictures.
Simpler in my opinion to use molly plugs or something similar when you actually hang something, but of course it's possible.

The snag is that insulation must be added to the partition walls, and there are already holes everywhere... so might as well do the whole room while we're at it...
it's not that much work to put up boards... it goes relatively quickly...
but are there any direct negative aspects to using 6mm gypsum on plyfa instead of 12mm?

Yeah, that's what I'm a little afraid of.. but the walls today are completely flat, and it's framed, and the plywood we're putting at the bottom is smooth...injonil said:
Does 6mm gypsum need to be glued, or is it enough with screws?
