1-story house to 1½-story house?

Hello!

Considering changing our 1-story house to a 1½-story house.
The width of the house is 5.6 m.
Will it still work, or is the house too narrow?
What can we expect for the price per square meter?

You need some form of elevated ceiling or a mansard roof. A regular roof with, for example, a 45-degree angle would only give 2.80 in height in the middle of the house minus the thickness of the timber and a usable width of max 2 meters (without having calculated anything).
