Hello!
I want to mount my TV on the wall. I have a plate (50cm) that you attach to the wall and mounts on the TV that hook onto the TV. There is 60cm between the studs, and one stud is perfectly centered, right behind the middle of where I want the TV to hang.
Suggestions on how I can hang the TV in the middle of the wall? It's a plaster wall, so I need to attach the plate to the studs. The TV weighs 25kg.

I would drill a couple of extra holes in the wall plate so you can screw it into the middle stud. Alternatively, buy another wall plate with more holes. Then you can also use some screws with drywall anchors at the ends, but the plate should mainly be supported in the middle. It's hard to see in the picture, but the plates are usually quite sturdy, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks! I'll try that now. Do you think it's necessary with drywall expanders at the ends, or could it be enough with two sturdy screws in the middle? The TV, as mentioned, weighs 25kg.C cpalm said:I would drill a couple of extra holes in the wall plate so you can screw it into the center stud. Alternatively, buy another wall plate with more holes. I think a couple of solid screws in the middle should be more than enough, but I wouldn't want to feel guilty if your TV falls down. So that's something you have to decide for yourself. After all, it's not how the manufacturer intended for the mount to be installed.R rickapp said:
The screws in the middle can easily handle the weight of 25kg. But if someone happens to lean on/grab the TV causing it to twist, using an expander in the outer ones helps significantly even if they're only attached to the drywall.
So it somewhat depends on how wild your kids, cats, and New Year's Eve partygoers are at home
