Hello!
I am planning to build an interior wall to divide a room. I've never done it before. I'd like it to be reasonably soundproof (one room will be our bedroom, the other a children's room). I'm thinking of using 45x95 wooden studs with double drywall and fiberglass insulation.
When reading various construction descriptions, it is generally recommended to have a sealing strip or rubber mat between the bottom plate, top plate, and wall studs, and the floor, ceiling, and walls, to optimize soundproofing. However, I'm having difficulty finding a product in hardware stores that would suit. Could this be something? https://www.bauhaus.se/grundpapp-tecca-remsa-yep-2500-syll-fotplat-25cmx10m
or are there other tips? Note it has to be available in stores, as I don't have time to order...
thanks in advance!

You can use a regular adhesive rubber strip underneath if you're using wood studs. Or just use regular silicone strips.E elikaufman said:Hello!

If you're using metal studs, use skp around.
A tip here is that if you're doing 2 layers per side, which I assume due to the sound issue, you can leave 5 mm around the first layer and seal tightly with latex caulking before applying the second layer. It works both with and without the previous solutions with strips/skp.
Rubber strip - if I had searched for that, I would have found plenty. I feel stupid. Now I used Biltema's 1mm rubber mat that I cut instead - hope it will work reasonably well at least.I Installation said:You can use a regular tape rubber strip underneath if you use a wooden frame. You want it tight between the stud and the floor/ceiling/wall. How is really irrelevant.E elikaufman said:
