The floor will be a 3-strip 14mm parquet and walls with gypsum as the surface layer. What are the solutions to completely avoid baseboards?

The only function of the baseboard is really to cover the gap between the floor and the wall and to have something to run the vacuum cleaner nozzle against, right?

I guess it's fine to "place" the drywall panels on top of the floor. A somewhat unusual solution I would think, but it should work. So you have to lay the floor before you install the drywall on the walls.

S
how have you thought then?
there should be a certain gap between the gips and the parquet. so the parquet can move.
you can put a plastic mat or carpet to avoid trim.
then the surface stuff can be tape, panel, or paint. gips is just a substrate.

The gap is mainly needed in length, so leaving an 8-9 mm gap against the existing wall or framework and then "placing" the plasterboard on top will allow the floor to move lengthwise. However, I don't see how this would work well in practice, but that's another story.

Suhagg, did you find any good solution to this? I'm considering a middle ground where the floor is installed first, then the baseboard, and then the plasterboard on top of the baseboard so they align...

No. I'll probably end up with baseboards anyway. Hope it works out for you.
