In the split-level house built in '69, the lower floor has an uninsulated slab on grade with beams embedded in the concrete. On top of this is a wooden construction with insulation, and on top of that, a wooden floor. I am now going to renovate the lower floor and will remove the wooden construction in the floor and then remove the embedded beams.

Now to my question: Once I've removed everything down to the uninsulated slab and taken out the embedded beams, can I cast with EPS, use self-leveling compound, and then lay wooden flooring on this in a living room where 2 out of 3 walls are above ground (meaning not much moisture coming from the exterior walls)? In other words, does 15cm of EPS and self-leveling compound keep moisture away sufficiently to lay wooden flooring on it?
