Hello,
according to the construction drawings for our garage, the frame is supposed to be K12 "unless otherwise stated."
I have tried to get answers from Xl-Bygg, Beijer, and Byggmax with the following responses:
Beijer
Beijer in Örebro doesn't have wood stamped K12, only K24=T2, which is a higher classification.
XL Bygg
Regarding the different sorting grades,
you should always ask the staff about the
grade you need to avoid mistakes. We have sorting C14 on all
studs from 120mm to 220mm.
Byggmax
No response - yet
I'm also considering contacting Bauhaus, etc.
The reason is that K12/C14 according to the brochure "Choosing Wood" page
15 doesn't need marking:
"Sorting class T0, which doesn't need to be marked, is referred to as strength class
C14 according to the European standard (K12)."
It would be interesting to know the quality of the studs on the shelf at Bauhaus,
Byggmax, etc.
I'm aware that this topic has been widely discussed before.
But so far I haven't found any answers regarding the quality at Byggmax and other "bargain stores."
Best regards,
Hobbit
