I'm going to insulate a brick wall from the inside. First, cover the entire wall with façade board, then 45mm insulation between the studs, and plastic closest to the room.
Which is best?
*Metal stud bottom and top with 45mm wooden studs standing.
*All metal.
*All wood.
3 different options: but all are 45mm
 
It is probably optional. Personally, I prefer steel for its straightness. The alternative of using steel tracks as base plates and top plates with wooden studs in between is also nice as it is quick to build. You don't need to cut the studs so precisely...
