Hi!

Which one is best from a sound perspective?

My own opinion is C, A, B.

C: Most insulation and metal studs that are only in contact with one surface.
A: Double layer of gypsum board, but studs are in full contact with both surfaces.
B: One layer of gypsum board and less insulation.

If it were the same construction except for the stud, would wood studs or metal studs be better?

By the way, how are the metal studs constructed? Looks weird in the image.

Thanks for now!

Looks like a rather flimsy intermediate floor(?), are you sure these aren't pictures of walls?

From a sound perspective, no idea

Thanks for the answer. It's an old exam question that I was unsure about. The funny thing is that I also had that thought, so maybe it should say walls instead of floor structure. I don't understand how they have fixed the metal studs otherwise.
