When installing window reveals where I do not intend to install trims, is it appropriate to install the window reveal before the wallboard to be able to press the wallboard flush against the reveal? The wall currently consists of plywood.

Is MDF standard today for window reveals, or are there better alternatives? Painted or unpainted MDF?

In today's constructions, most of them don't have moldings but extend MDF about 2 cm beyond the wall and set plaster blocks against MDF and fill any gaps. Another option is to first set the plasterboard, allowing it to slightly overhang the recess, and later saw it flush with the edge in the recess, then set MDF and fill it. MDF is better in recesses; it is less fragile than plasterboard for damage.

As above one does. But I don't think it looks good with a protrusion as much as 20mm, I prefer 5-10 mm.

You can skip the ugly MDF and plaster the embrasure with

If you plaster the reveal, how do you make it look nice against the window frame?

The outer corner is easy to get nice with corner protectors and putty. But how do you make the inner corner against the window frame look nice? Cut the plasterboard as neatly as you can and then apply a sealant?

Sorry for the necro here but I’m looking for this answer too, did you find out how to do it?
