In a month, I will be replacing a couple of windows at home. The facade consists of roughcast plaster. When I remove the old window, I will have to chip away some plaster. Now I wonder how I can best seal between the plaster and the new window? I plan to switch the facade to wood paneling in about 2-4 years, so I prefer not to do more than necessary to ensure it is sealed so that rainwater cannot reach the wood behind the plaster. Is there a good product/method for this purpose?

1) Nail on temporary window casings

2) Use UV-resistant foam with CAUTION

3) Contact a plåtis

Do you think cladding is necessary? My thought was to chip away enough plaster to make room for window trim and then try to seal the gap between the plaster and the trim...

Hard to say from a distance. Now this is only temporary until you attach the panel, so solve it in the easiest way! Apply the trim and possibly seal with latex against the plaster.

Hello
When window installers (Tiivi, Mockfjärd, etc.) install windows in plastered/rendered houses, they use some kind of cover strip made of sheet metal or aluminum that covers the distance between the frame and the wall. Maybe it can be found somewhere. / LOB
