Wind barrier on top of subfloor panel?
Hello!
I am working on building an extension on a vacation home.
I have some questions about the subfloor.
I have mounted strips on the floor joists where I will lay subfloor panels of the fiber cement type (purchased at Byggmax).
Is it best to attach these with screws, or is it unnecessary? Can they just as well lie loose?
Then I've heard that some people put wind paper on top of the subfloor panel before the insulation to prevent air from getting through. Is that a good idea, or what recommendations are there?

The Trossbottenskivorna are dense, it's a bit like adding unnecessary material with wind barrier, the boards are either cut or, if they are the right size, just laid loosely. They won't go anywhere; if they're fixed and the bottom moves (wooden house), they will crack.
The boards are dense, yes, but not the joints. I would have placed windpaper on top. A cheap insurance. All the subfloor boards I've seen are thin and flimsy and sag more or less, resulting in the joints almost certainly not lying flush against each other.
Hello, I'm jumping into the thread if that's okay. I'm also thinking about installing subfloor panels from Byggmax, fiber cement. I'm also planning to move the house (guest cottage) in a few years and read here that if it moves, they might crack. Not so good when you're going to lift a house maybe..
alternative materials? I was also considering taping the joints instead of using wind barrier paper, what do you think about that?
I have previously used Byggmax's fiber cement boards (4.5mm), now they seem to be 6mm. I have taped all joints with age-resistant tape (129:- at Byggmax) mainly from above, but in some places from below where I couldn't reach.
Do not buy the cheaper tape intended for construction plastic, it doesn't adhere nearly as well.

If they are loose, the risk of them cracking is minimal.
If you touch such a sheet, you'll get a sense of the risk.
I haven't touched any trossbottenskiva, but I have touched corrugated roofing sheets like P8, both new ones made of glass fiber reinforced cement and old ones with asbestos. They are very flexible.
