Hello!
We are renovating our home and have moved the kitchen to the other side of the house. Everything is ready with electricity and water, but now I'm considering changing the design in the kitchen a bit. The plan was to have empty walls and only base cabinets, but it has now come to my realization that we will need more storage than that haha...
Since it was not the original plan to have wall cabinets, we haven't reinforced the wall specifically where I now want to put the wall cabinets. Therefore, I'm throwing the question out here — what do you think, will the wall support the wall cabinets? Or do we have to tear down everything to reinforce it?
We live in a wooden house from the 40s, and it is on one of the house's exterior walls that I'm thinking of putting the wall cabinets. The wall's structure is as follows (from inside to outer panel):
I'm attaching a picture from the same room but another wall where you can clearly see the wall's structure. However, we've used a thinner plasterboard on that wall and also haven't put an OSB board with studs underneath.
I'm also attaching a picture from when we put up OSB boards on the wall where the wall cabinets are intended to be (there you can see the horizontal paneling and the studs the OSB board is attached to). Plus a sketch of how the kitchen will look.
This is my first post here on Byggahus, and this is also the first time I'm renovating, so please bear with me if the post was messy or lacks important details to give an answer haha!
You can load the cabinet with several hundred kg before the wall attachment becomes a limitation. That is, the cabinet will fail before the attachment does.

use 6mm screw of suitable length.
Haha! Great, it feels a little more reassuring after your two responses to put up the wall cabinets Thanks!!
