I don't know how to assess what a construction can be expected to bear.

If you had peeked into this box that is 30 deep, 1.2 meters wide. Anchored with screws against a masonite wall.

Would you have been satisfied with these beams then and calmly loaded heavy things onto it?

How heavy and what kind of lid should you have?

Particle board and plaster.

I'm a bit tempted to get a custom-sized aquarium and place it there, assuming a bunch of liters of water weighs a bit. But I don't dare guess a number as I don't have a feel for estimating weights.

I might have placed one right across, just to be even more on the safe side =)

It's enough that you estimate the volume.

Height * Width * Depth in decimeters = weight in kilos. (+glass and stone)

Did some calculations now. With approximate measurements, let's say 180-200 liters. So let's say 200 kg.

I was also considering an extra support in the middle. At the same time, I'm afraid of building in vibration-conducting factors since the underfloor heating pump is nearby.
