Hello!

I'm not a construction expert, so I have hired builders to do the work for me. However, I still want to check with all the experts out there if this is correct and will hold up for our spa when it arrives. We don't want to risk it collapsing.

The spa is 2.3x2.3 and will weigh around 2.2 tons with people in it.

On the surface where the spa will sit, they have cast l15 concrete pillars into the ground.
Then there are 7 beams as load-bearers. Following that are 21 smaller beams and then decking.
Will this be enough, or do we need to reinforce it more?

Grateful for all tips and answers.

  • Concrete piers set in a garden, surrounded by grass and shrubs, for supporting a future 2.3x2.3m spa with a weight capacity of 2.2 tons.
  • Wooden deck frame with multiple beams and supports, set on ground with surrounding greenery. Built to support a 2.2-ton spa.
  • Wooden deck frame under construction, with multiple beams and black ground cover, in a grassy yard.
  • Wooden deck construction with visible beams and posts, designed to support a spa bath. Surrounding greenery and residential area in the background.
What is the dimension of the joists, how deep are the pier blocks cast?

It's hard to say for sure, but based on the pictures, I think it's fine. The deck is so low that the joists almost rest on the ground, they can hardly move significantly!

Difficult to say anything more precise without knowing the timber dimensions. The load on the deck including the deck's own weight is about 500 kg/sqm, which corresponds to a normal balcony. I dislike the unsystematic construction method, but maybe it was necessary. However, it does not give a fully professional impression.
