Hey! Is there a standard to follow regarding the size and width of bargeboards? Is it related to the size/width of corner trims/frames or something else to consider?
I'm replacing the bargeboards now and the previous owner probably had 4 layers of bargeboards on top of each other, 85mm panel (same as battens and same as frames, corners, etc.). The roof was and will again be concrete tiles.
I'm considering switching to 2 bargeboards and from what I understand, the bottom board should be flush with the sheathing, and the top board should protrude about 13-13.5 cm above the sheathing so the bargeboard flashing is positioned correctly over the tiles. This means that the bargeboards must be two 145s. Doesn't it look really odd when the battens and everything else are 85mm?
