Widen machine hall to riding arena ?
Hello everyone!
New here on the forum and not sure if this question is in the right place, but I hope so.
What I'm wondering is whether it's possible to widen an existing machinery hall and how this can be done in the simplest and most economical way.
The machinery hall is about 17m in width and 30m in length, and I wish for a width of at least 20m or 24m and 40m or 60m in length (depending on the price point). The machinery hall is currently used as an indoor riding arena but is really too small, hence the question.
When contacting riding arena sellers, they obviously want to sell a new riding arena and say that it's certainly possible to widen, but that it will cost more than it's worth... so they prefer to sell me a new riding arena for 900,000 SEK
Feels like adding three meters in width and ten meters in length could be cheaper if it's technically feasible to solve...
Creative solutions are welcome
Also wondering if a building permit is required for such a project. The machinery hall is located on a farm.

Extension is no big problem, just continue building, but widening means new roof trusses and lifting after the existing wall.
Rent out the machine hall for winter storage of caravans and build new.

Thanks for the quick response
I have a follow-up question!
Does anyone know if there is a big price difference between what is called a simple metal riding house 20 x 40 meters and a machine hall of the same size? As mentioned, I found the cheapest price of 900,000 SEK excl. VAT for this size.
And what are the other differences, they look very similar.
I actually don't want any walls on the riding house but want to use wind nets instead.
So what I need is a frame, roof, and a fence-high wooden wall around the house.
Can someone recommend a priceworthy and good supplier of these parts?
