I am renovating my apartment and plan to widen two interior doors. The doors will be removed and replaced with portals (square, not pizza arches). The walls are about 10cm thick, of which about 15mm on each side is some form of porous plaster. The material in the middle, about 7cm thick, is some kind of concrete and is significantly harder. The building is from the 1950s.
So to the question. What is the best way to do this? Angle grinder, reciprocating saw, or perhaps even some form of handsaw since it’s a relatively thin wall. I know it gets very dusty when cutting through concrete, but that’s not a huge problem since the entire apartment is being redone. However, it would be very good to avoid having to saw with water cooling.

Personally, I would first remove the porous 1-2dm inside where the actual cut is to be made.
This is to gain better access later. Preferably with as much manual effort as possible.
Then it's probably something with a diamond blade that you rent and cut the concrete with.
Do not saw everything at once, but piece by piece and remove the concrete.
Otherwise, there's a high risk of collapse and risk of injury!

I tried sawing a bit into the wall with a regular handsaw and it went quite well, so the material in the middle wasn't as hard as I initially thought. It looks like lightweight concrete with brick crush in it, does anyone know what kind of material this might be?
Now the attachment of the studs (the new door frames) to the wall feels like a bigger problem than the actual sawing. I suspect that the risk of cracking is quite high when the wall is this porous. Any tips? Drill, plug, and screw?
