The main reason for the advice to keep all doors and windows closed is to prevent the fire from accessing more oxygen.
...which means less smoke gases, reasonably.

A regular interior door is usually made of solid wood. Wood doesn't burn through in seconds. There are pure masonite doors, but I'm not that damn cheap.
I would probably say that a "regular" interior door nowadays is not solid, but the masonite variants dominate.

Most modern interior doors are not solid, not even exterior doors are. Interior doors are so-called sandwich constructions and there are also frame doors with a plywood panel. But solid ones are rare as they become too heavy and are not very shape stable.

Even a masonite door stops clearly more than a minute.

Yes, they prevent the smoke for seconds but during a full fire it doesn't matter. The recommendation to close the door is to buy time to get out of the house.

I'm posting once again since you don't seem to have seen it.

Isn't the film above sufficient?
It doesn't show anything about the actual door, what type it was, it might have been a heavier inner door with sealing strips and a tight threshold...
Which regular inner doors don't have...

Facts on this?

In a full fire, there's no one there who can close a door, so obviously it's about more than seconds. Certainly many minutes delay until "full fire" and total spread of smoke gases.

That is, there was nothing wrong with what was written earlier in the thread.

No one has said that a door stops all fire gases.

You, however, have said that a closed or open door only affects the process by seconds - it's probably THAT claim that should be substantiated with facts rather than anything else.
It was Daniel's statement about a regular interior door stopping a lot, which is a completely crazy statement.

“Yes, it stops a lot of fire gases.”
He wrote this in post #255 until this is backed up with facts, it's pointless to discuss with amateurs.

Yes, it makes an extreme difference with an open and a closed door. If it is open, the smoke spreads very quickly; if it is closed, the spread is significantly delayed.

You're entitled to your opinion, but show facts or a building description that supports your claim that an unclassified door stops a lot of smoke gases.
A completely incorrect statement by Daniel.

Although the door in the movie above is probably better than a regular "innerdörr".......maybe even a fire-rated one.

How expensive doors have become. Well, we have these here but with a different brand at home. Just regular doors. It seems to be all wood.
