Which mortar for door opening

Hello,
I have a doorway in concrete hollow blocks that needs to be plastered to create a surface that can be painted.

Which mortar should I use? I think good adhesion is important.

Yes, it is in a heated basement.

If it's a basement, then maybe gypsum mortar isn't the first choice. Plaster mortar C or Finja's Lagavägg could be an option—the advantage of Lagavägg is that it is easier to work with and you get a smoother surface than with regular plaster mortar, which needs to be spackled if you want a finer surface.
