Hi! I was thinking of building a wall bar for our gym, and I'm considering making the bars for the wall bar from plywood. More specifically, gluing together two 15mm boards and then cutting out sticks about 40x30 which will then be rounded off with a router. I think this should become more durable than using studs (due to knots) or round rods (because I think 33 feels flimsy, and 43 becomes uncomfortably thick, plus I would like them to be "oval"). But which glue is best to glue the boards together so it becomes both strong and somewhat flexible? I think they might bend a little when you work out. Regular wood glue? Epoxy? I can never manage to learn the respective properties of the different types... 😵‍💫

I usually use PU glue if wood glue isn't suitable.

My first thought was just regular wood glue, under the right conditions it becomes really strong, but whether it's suitable for this particular situation, I'll leave that to those who know better...

Wood glue works, but I would be more concerned about plywood in that application. A lot of end grain with the risk of splinters and difficult to shape without filling in gaps. If you still want to shape, I would either use regular wood or laminate veneer and/or slightly thicker pieces.

Depends on what kind of ply is used. It's not construction ply but 15mm birch ply I have lying around. Shouldn't be any problem after sanding and surface treatment.
