Thinking about which to start with. I'm in the process of tearing out the attic and have now re-framed and adjusted the floor joists/structure. Now I need to put down the floor chipboards on this, but should I lay them against the wall or 50mm out for the next extra insulation stud to lie?

So, lay all the flooring now and then place the 45mm stud on it or attach a 45x45 stud to the floor joists and then the chipboard 5mm outside of this then...

Hope you understand what I'm thinking :o

For non-load-bearing interior walls, it doesn't really matter much. The only time it matters is if you need to tear up the floor again, then it's an advantage not to have a wall on the boards. How often do you think you'll be doing that? On the other hand, it seems to be more common to first complete the entire floor level with floor boards and then put up interior walls on top of that.

It's probably easier if there's something to go on when building the walls :)

I would probably lay the chipboard flooring first, then all the wall studs.

Make sure you have support under the chipboard flooring between the joists, where the floor ends.

Thanks everyone.
I started thinking about this now since I read that mm should have a 10mm air gap so the boards can move...
But can they move if you glue and screw them?
Do you lay the floor first and then the wall, so it's attached to the floor, or do you just let it rest on the floor and screw the board to the wall?
The new wall is facing an attic space and is 170mm thick, followed by plastic and then a 45mm installation part.

I like your responses and thoughts, so I hope for more feedback! :)
