Where to buy water-resistant MDF?
I'm looking for MDF that is better resistant to moisture (6 mm thick, in the Gothenburg area), and I find many different sites explaining and recommending it, with many different names like "Moisture Resistant MDF", "Outdoor MDF", "Exterior MDF", "Green MDF", "Moisture Proof MDF", "Waterproof MDF".
BUT, I never find anyone who actually sells it! It's like the Yeti, everyone talks about it, but no one has seen it in real life.
So, where can I buy a sheet of this renowned MDF?

What will you use it for?
There are a few different variants. Tricoya is the most moisture-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. Valchromat and foresco are described as moisture-resistant.
All are sold by calexico in Gothenburg.

Well, that was an option at first, but a sheet costs 1500kr, which I could almost swallow until they add 1000kr for shipping to throw the sheet on the express truck from Norrköping. The total price of 2500kr for a sheet of MDF by itself is quite expensive, but above all, it's downright ridiculous to charge 1000kr for shipping (which is not even to my home, but from their Norrköping warehouse to their Gothenburg warehouse). So no, I will not shop there...B boohoo said:
The sheet is for a shower wall, instead of the 6 mm glass that usually sits in the profiles, as I want a completely non-transparent and completely white sheet, which cannot be achieved with glass.
Yes, it would be. The reason I chose MDF was that I first Googled endlessly for white 6 mm acrylic or other materials in 6 mm that were either white or could be painted. And that are sufficiently large (like 600x2100), and also have a nice edge, or can be milled to a nice edge. But tips on that (again, that one can buy, a single sheet, as an individual!) are also gratefully received!C CM1234 said:

Wouldn't even put tricoya in the shower even though the board itself is water-resistant.
Possibly compact laminate.
Have you considered a cement-based board like Cembrit construction?

The shower supplier I bought profiles and other shower walls from did not have that option, they could only foil the glass on the backside, and then it gets a blue tint and not white.P polarsson said:
An alternative is to go to a glazier. I did a quick Google search, and Lacobel 600x2100 costs 4000kr. I think it's too expensive, when all I want is "a regular damn white panel"
When I started the project and bought the profiles, I was thinking of those screen walls between showers in old municipal baths, and that it shouldn't be either expensive or difficult to obtain...
Haven't found large enough, 2100 long, only found like 600. Otherwise, I've thought about it. With some skepticism about how I manage to mill a soft and fine edge then...S sinuslinus said:
I know a couple of companies in GBG that can probably solve it, but I have no idea about the cost for shipping. Plastbiten is one company and Vink Essåplast is another one. Perspex 069 is completely white and there is also the frosted equivalent called 1T41. The sheets are 3050x2030 mm and can be cut to any desired size.
Those sound interesting! I'll contact them! Shipping isn't a problem as long as they have the stuff in Gothenburg and the surrounding area, I can take the sheet on my own trailer with no problem!C CM1234 said:I know a couple of companies in GBG that could probably handle it, though I'm not sure about the shipping costs. Sign aluminum is another option
Checked those now, and a plastic sheet in my size costs nearly 4000 kr, which is on par with Lacobel.C CM1234 said:I know a couple of companies in GBG that can probably solve it, but I have no idea about the cost of shipping. So back to the original question, moisture-resistant MDF, where on earth can you buy that?
Drop the idea of MDF. Moisture resistant or waterproof, it will not work.
