I am planning to build a smaller house in the Stockholm area and want to try to keep the budget down.
I will need a lot of Lecablock, mortar, plasterboard, insulation, windows, and a smaller amount of lumber.
Where can you buy this cheapest? Someone in Stockholm, Småland, or Germany?

Sure, if one could understand the language....
Living in Stockholm and Germany was very cheap!
I mentioned in another thread about tiles in Höör.
I'll say it once more:
www.nilform.se
half the price compared to Stockholm for the same products.

It's not being stingy, it's not being foolish ;D. I'm not going to pay overpriced for goods just because I live in Stockholm.
Everyone here adds up to a 200% markup and I won't accept that.
If you ask Nilform in Höör for example, who have the same goods imported from the same factories in Spain and have more than half the price compared to the stores here in Stockholm, how they do it.
The answer is they don't add as much profit to the purchase price. And that's in Sweden!!
I don't speak German either, but I get by with 6 other languages. I had no problem when I did a "market research trip" in April.
I'm going to buy a lot there ;D

Another thing: Don't get fixated on the list price.
When building, you often need large quantities, and that's when you can request quotes. Some building supply stores offer real contractor discounts when asked.
I got 40% off on plasterboard and OSB when I inquired around. I think it ended up being cheapest at Beijerbygg in the end - which was unexpected, they are usually among the more expensive if you buy in small quantities...

They have much more in the store than what they show on the website.
Karl building materials can be found here quite cheaply. What is expensive is everything that is a bit "luxurious". For example, better faucets, tiles and ceramics, sinks. Like "interior decoration products".
Sure, you can find tiles at Bauhaus for 100kr/m2, but if you want something a little better or different, the price is completely different in the same store.

If you want to be pretty, you have to endure pain (wallet pain). Everyone knows that it's expensive to keep up with fashion, even in the construction industry. Nooo, come up with some original things by buying second-hand and possibly remodeling them.
