Where do you buy your building materials?
I buy almost everything I need at Karl Hedin, it's quite nearby. But most importantly, I always get good help and friendly service compared to byggmax. Also, for me, there has always been a big difference in quality between the two; I've had to search forever for something straight at byggmax.

At a local small retailer. With a little discount, I get prices equivalent to byggmax but they have much better quality on the timber.
Additionally, I have about 5 minutes travel on small roads, so I can overload with a low risk of being caught by the law.

We have quite a lot within a mile from home. It ends up being Ekesiöö, Hornbach, Bauhaus, Byggmax, and XL. We get a lot of paneling from Åttersta outside of Sandviken. We've ordered some from Listspecialisten and sekelskifte.
Now there are many projects in the Stugan and then it's Fresks in Funäsdalen. Fantastic store!

If I buy a lot of material and want it delivered to my home, it will be proffshandel Optimera with contact with the internal salespeople beforehand. Not much more expensive and all the timber is almost perfect.
If I'm buying smaller quantities, or shopping on the weekend, then it's Byggmax. But you have to check each board. Jem & fix only when there's a special offer. They're a bit crappelicrapcrap.

No, they don't. It's exactly the same stuff from exactly the same supplier.R RoBo said:
When it comes to wood, I should add. For example, gypsum they have an EU-classified variant that is dirt cheap and I, at least, haven't noticed any difference whatsoever. Then they have some own brands that are somewhat mediocre, like the latex sealant, but what can you expect for 9 kronor? Their paint Midun is surprisingly good and, not least, cheap.
Nice to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks that Byggmax is quite okay quality. Super good wall filler too!
I wouldn't use the screws for anything delicate, or in too large quantities (fit bit). The lumber is often very twisted, surely 40-50% is rejected by many. I also use the filler sometimes, but I find it sinks in more than, for example, Fluggers.Mia Orange said:

All boards and planks we make ourselves in the dimensions we want, today we made 200x200 5.40 long beams
, but panels and other building-related materials are bought at xlbygg.. got great prices there that even beat byggmax prices.. and I always shop as a private person.
