Hello again! I was just wondering if anyone knows where to get really thin titanium?

I was thinking of making one of these windshields for my alcohol burner :)

Botox also, read it wrong and was thinking about the thread title, sorry. Titanium who knows if it's available in thin sheet form.
Why titanium? Why complicate things?

There is a very popular outdoor stove for lightweight hikers called Caldera cone, which uses a windscreen made of some type of aluminum. I think it might be around 0.1mm.

I thought I might try making one myself for fun :) could be a good weekend project.
That's probably titanium, not aluminum.

Are there spillbitar available for purchase on eBay?

Titanium seems like total overkill but enthusiasts sometimes pay anything.
At Bauhaus I think they have a lot of perforated sheets in different materials. However, not titanium.

Just feels like it's going to hold up best at high temperatures relative to its weight?

Yes, it is Titan they use. Found 0.1x100x1000mm for 50 kronor on AliExpress!

Exciting project, feel free to add pictures of the result.

Too thin. I believe (with a strong emphasis on believe) that 0.5mm is a good thickness to start with.

I've ordered some 0.1mm now, so we'll see how it feels; it must be able to roll up smoothly. I've seen that some even use 0.07mm, so 0.1 might work. I'll get back to you when I've started! Thanks for all the tips!

Here's a little video that explains very clearly how to do it if anyone is interested :)

Thread lift!!
How did it go then?

Otherwise, one can say that ordinary aluminum that is thin, under 0.5 mm, is very weak and soft.
But it might be possible to get hold of dural aluminum ...
Perhaps difficult for private individuals and in small quantities ...
