I am going to build a piece of furniture that should resemble a barrel in style. So, I want steel bands around it. In regular stores, I only find it on a roll, and it's not sturdy enough for my needs. So the question is, are there any places that sell hoop bands in different dimensions?

There must be someone who knows? :)

It will probably be difficult to find since it is the circumference that determines for the band, have you talked to a plåtis of the older kind, they are quite clever and can make your bands according to description.

Since not many barrels are made today, I don't really think there are barrel hoops available for purchase (I would gladly be wrong as I myself would like to make some barrels).

Spontaneously, a tinsmith sounds like the wrong profession, I would rather think a blacksmith?

Yes, I was afraid of that, that the demand is low...

Assuming that regular flat steel would do just fine, 20x2 or maybe 25...

Instinctively, a tinsmith seems like the wrong profession, I would rather think a blacksmith?
Many barrels are still made for the production of sherry and whisky even today. But not in Sweden, of course.

Image search "fassreifen" or "barrel hoop"

The "problem" with hoops (if I remember correctly) is that they are placed on the barrel when they are red-hot, and then the band shrinks as it cools...

But if you don't want the function of tightening the wood, any sheet metal workshop with rollers/English wheel/sufficient imagination can make rings in steel...

If they are on real wooden barrels, they don't need to be heated. The barrel is larger towards the middle, so the bands can be hammered down until they clamp tightly enough.

Certainly true, I was mainly thinking about domestic production.
