Where can I find 40mm nails?
Kamspik 35 mm is available at Ahlsell among others. Kamspik grips incredibly well so it should compensate for the shorter length.B blork said:I feel like an idiot but I can't find where to buy hot-dip galvanized 40mm nails like these?

Been to Byggmax, Jem&Fix, XLBygg and no one seems to have these?!
(I'm going to nail together 2 pieces of 22mm boards so I need 40mm so that the nail doesn't stick out. 50mm are plentiful but won't work well..)
I'll have to order this now, googled for another hour and found nothing reasonable.MultiMan said:
If anyone wants to buy 950 nails from me, just let me know.
Edit:
These are otherwise available from Byggahus.se: https://shop.byggahus.se/collections/spik/products/ankarspik-tdg-300-pack-fast
I don't know what tdg is for treatment? Suitable for outdoor use?
I'm also considering maybe skipping using bleckspik as it was originally and going for farm screws instead, easier to unscrew the day it has to come off again..

I don't think you can see any difference from a distance that it's screws on one side and nails on the other?

Nails on a strip for a nail gun that I've seen have had that appearance with rings, that's why I mentioned it. The 3" and 4" nails that the carpenter had in his Paslode for the battens on my roof looked exactly like that. Same with the nail head, it is not smooth underneath like regular nails.
Hmm maybe these would work then: https://www.byggmax.se/kamspik-lkh-rfr-19x35mm-p2420581
I would personally go with quality decking screws in 43 mm. I used that for both fascia boards, around windows, etc.B blork said:I'll have to order this now, googled for another hour and can't find anything useful.

That should work excellently if you want nails!B blork said:
Edit: The downside is that it's not even 15 mm in board 2 with normally thin 21-22mm boards. That's too little.

I just think it may be difficult to take apart next time when you've painted over all the screw heads? Risk that they will also show through the topcoat? But maybe that's not a problem?MultiMan said:
I put oil/outdoor sealant in the heads before painting to make it smooth and moisture-proof where the screw head went in, and that compound stays soft for decades. But, it's extra work that you might not want.B blork said:
Yes, it might be too short after all, why is it so hard to find.MultiMan said:

These were still reasonably priced, with shipping about 260kr, just slow shipping.
Otherwise, Bygghus has these, not sure how suitable kolstål is? Happy to support Byggahus

Yes, 4 mm thick can become problematic, especially with round nails if you're going to nail into thin boards. Risk of cracks.
Otherwise, it's a very good surface treatment and the right length.
Carbon steel is what is usually found in all common galvanized wood nails, as far as I know anyway.

Darn, yes the old ones seem to be 2mm in diameter. But I haven't managed to find it anywhere. Only 40X4.0 that seems to be manufactured. How hard can it be.🤣
I'll use regular nails instead, that'll probably do. https://www.k-rauta.se/produkt/spik-essve-17x40-fzv-rafflad-1000st/7317761040446
The board should also be nailed into the bärläkt or whatever it's called with 75mm nails, so it should hold.
