Thinking of renovating the staircase and sprucing it up with some paint or something. But don't really know what material the staircase is made of. Alternatively, lay carpet over the steps or maybe try to install click flooring over the steps or something similar... anyone know what it might be made of or have any tips on how to spruce it up?

  • Old wooden stairs with partially carpeted steps and worn surfaces, considered for renovation with paint or flooring.
Sand and varnish/oil/wax.

Regarding floors, Kärsh trappnos matches some of their floors - It becomes quite a nice solution and in my experience cheaper than so-called stepkit from Duri or Ljungberg.

Doesn't it look like regular pine or spruce boards on the bottom step in the picture? Which then have something on top from the beginning, carpet, PVC tiles, etc., because it looks like half-sanded-off glue on the step in the middle of the picture. Then a stair nose in harder wood, maybe oak.

I have an older book table, which looks like this in structure. It is also worn, in addition.
