Hello!

Does anyone know what type of screw this is and how I can get it out? It has a rounded, somewhat convex head. I'm in the process of tearing down a partition wall that the previous owners put up when they created an extra room at the end of the living room. I have taken down the drywall, and the screw is in the "metal track" towards the ceiling, the track that the studs are then mounted in.

Thanks in advance! Close-up of an unusual screw with a rounded, convex head embedded in a wall, part of a metal track system for interior wall studs. Rounded screw with a convex head in a metal track, used in a home renovation project to dismantle an interior wall.

Drill it off if it doesn't work to pull with pliers.

That's not a screw, it's a slagnit.

Suspected it was something else, but didn't know what to call it. How do you remove a slagnit..?

Try using a crowbar if something like pliers doesn't work; the material in the plug part is usually slightly softer. Position the crowbar with the teeth against the rivet and give a few hits with a hammer on the corresponding side of the crowbar, and they usually give way and come loose.

Hope you get it done

Try to get a grip on the pin in the middle and pull it out. If that doesn't work, unfortunately, you have to cut off the head. If it's aluminum, you can knock it off with a knife and hammer.
