I'm working on an old log house where we have, among other things, exposed a log wall (interior wall) which will mostly be visible in the future. But at one end of the wall, there's a fireplace where the wall is partially built with brick, except at the very top where the logs extend all the way to the fireplace. There's a door quite close to the fireplace (unfortunately, I can't provide any pictures), and above the door, the logs extend all the way to the fireplace, but below, it's partially built with brick from the fireplace.
The plan is to cover the wall up to the door with some kind of board while the rest of the wall will remain as it is. The board that was/is there, I don't know what kind of board it is, but it's adhered with something over both the logs and the brick, and I suspect that's what we have to do too.
What would be suitable to use here, do you think?

Do you then use liquid gypsum to attach the plasterboard to the brick?
