My house was a small renovation that turned into a total renovation.

Recently, I removed radiator pipes and some mortar/lightweight concrete came with it. Inside, I could see one of the beams that runs over the basement. The wall to the right is an exterior wall. Straight ahead is a former shower room with a basement underneath. The floor is insulated with mineral wool.

Decaying wooden beam exposed between brick and cement walls in a basement renovation, showing signs of rot and crumbling material around it.
Deteriorating wooden beam exposed in a basement wall, surrounded by bricks and rubble. The beam appears fragile and crumbling due to damage.
A decaying timber beam behind a crumbling wall interior, with insulation materials visible, indicating structural renovation.

When I stick the beam with a knife, it goes about 1-2 cm in. The beam crumbles very easily.
About 40cm further in (from what can be seen in the picture), the beam looks fine and sticking a knife there leaves just a mark.

How should this be addressed?

ps. hope this is the right forum and that the pictures are good enough (the light and camera didn't quite cooperate)

Does the rotten stump bear any load?

Make an extra support where it is intact, then remove the rotten piece and insert a healthy piece of wood.

Apart from the floor, I'm not completely sure, but as it seems, it doesn't support any wall.

Looks like tree damage insects. Do you have moisture there?
