Hello!
I'm going to try to tidy up my hallway. I've been thinking for a long time about how to best arrange my ceiling moldings. I have a slightly awkward finish against the stairs that lead up to the upper floor. The house has an attic that "extends over" the stairs. I could use some tips and advice on how to make this look nice. Attached are pictures.
Thanks in advance!

  • Ceiling of a hallway with white wood panels, a wooden handrail, and a wicker-framed mirror on the wall, showing area for potential renovation.
  • Hallway ceiling and staircase corner with wood paneling, a wicker frame mirror, and a rustic handrail.
  • Ceiling with white paneling and molding in a hallway, showing the end of a wall above a door where the ceiling joins a staircase area.
Well, I have been under those. Then I can finish the lists against them. And skip placing a list over the actual staircase. Instead, I can put a narrow corner cover strip there. But the problem is that I'm a bit allergic to cover strips that tend to end up "on top" of things.

Everything a rule / beam that covers the cornice plus a few cm so you get a complete ceiling .. i.e., moldings x four sides.
And you avoid a cover strip for the end grain on the panel in the stairs.

Absolutely! That sounds like a good idea. I'll take it with me!👍

I have that solution minus the fourth list in my hall since I removed a wall that left a hole in the ceiling ..
Ceiling with missing trim, showing a gap from a removed wall. White panels and dark wood beam visible in a hallway renovation project.
