I am planning to build an uninsulated stable measuring 15x9 m, about 3.5 m high (from bottom plate to wall plate overall), with a roof that has a slope of about 45 degrees (it's supposed to have an old-fashioned look), so it will be about 8 m up to the ridge. The roof covering will be fiber cement sheets laid directly on the joists between the trusses (so there won't be any underlay).
I'm now considering various labor- and cost-saving measures, which of course must not affect the durability. One such measure is the distance between the wall studs. Could I possibly increase it to about 1 m apart, or maybe 1.2 m? It would save me work and material, but I also think it would look nicer and less "cluttered" if the studs were placed a bit more sparsely.
The original plan was to use 2"x5" for the standing wall studs and for the wall plate a lying (on edge) 2"x6" and then a lying 2"x5" (the timber is from a "bonnasåg," so it's not in centimeter measurements).
I'd be very grateful for your opinions!
 
If you're going to have paneling on the walls, their measurements might affect it, right?
 
No, no record material on the inside.

What will you have on the walls, and what do they need to withstand later? (Kicking horses and horse nudges?)

If you're going to use plasterboard, you can't have spacing wider than cc60 cm.

If you're going to use raw boards and accept somewhat wobbly walls, you can probably have up to cc120 cm.

If you plan to make walls out of 45mm thick studs, you can either have generous cc, or use the dimensions of the wood to make very sturdy walls.

So questions; what have you planned for the walls? masonite, OSB, plaster, plywood, timber planks/studs, etc.
And what do the walls need to withstand, are you planning to attach things to the walls, etc.
 
I was involved in building stables about 10 years ago, and back then, it was rather denser regulations that were in place considering the horses' strength. I recall that we placed formplyfa on CC40 on exposed areas and OSB on cc90 on others.

exactly denser and preferably form plywood on the walls. there are surely regulations on how you should build the stable.

Initially, it will be used for sheep and serve as one large shelter, so we won't adapt the interior for horses. If we later build stalls for horses, we plan to use formplyfa, but as mentioned, that's something we'll do in a few years if at all.
I'm more concerned about the building's construction, how it withstands a wider spacing of the studs considering all the external influences it faces (roof covering weight, wind, snow)?

The original plan was to use 2"5" for the upright wall studs, and for the top plate, a horizontal (on edge) 2"6", and then a horizontal 2"5" (the lumber comes from a "bonnasåg", so these are not centimeter measurements).

It sounds like you're not planning to have any interior wall covering in the stable, otherwise, it wouldn't be visible how close the studs are.
And it would likely be a rather flimsy construction regardless of the stud spacing when the horses get hungry and start fighting.

Placing 2"x5" c-c 1200 is roughly like having 2"x2" c-c 600, so it doesn't sound like a stable construction.

I have just built a small 50 m2 stable with 45x120 studs c-c 600, and with horizontal 22 mm raw paneling as the inner panel.
Haven't exposed it to kicks from the horses yet, but it feels reasonably stable.

With walls as high as 3.5 meters, I would probably have opted for a larger dimension.

But I don't quite understand what you're writing:
Is it a shelter or a stable?
Just a simple board wall with only external paneling, or a real framed wall?

And the 3.5 meter high walls: What gives them stability?
For it to be a stable construction, the framework and panels must work together.

But I'm not a constructor.
Maybe you should try to get in contact with someone knowledgeable.
Or "peek" at similar constructions that have been standing for a few years :)

I agree, you should probably review the entire sizing a bit more, now that I think about it and look at the information you provided.
I assume you plan to place roof trusses the short way across the building.
In any case, with a width of 9 meters, you'll get quite substantial line loads, I guess roughly between thumb/finger at 20kN/meter or more.

And it is high = long beams = long buckling length = weak and easily buckled.

So you must look a bit more at what dimension you need to handle the buckling load case, especially in the strong direction. And in the weak direction, you must take stabilizing measures, or alternatively go for expensive glue-laminated columns as a standing framework.

Then after that (or simultaneously, as you can choose strong beams that bear directly under the roof trusses or bearing line at the wall plate and allow the load to also be borne by intermediate beams) you can choose the interior wall material and the center-to-center dimension of the beams.

Here are two sizing tables you can start with, to get a basic idea of what dimensions are needed.

The dimension of the studs comes from a carpenter I spoke to when I was building the house extension. That build was 9 m long and 7.5 m wide, which is why I initially thought (before consulting experts) that it was okay to use the same dimension for the framework. Besides the base plate, vertical studs, and top plate, the corner braces will obviously be added in the four corners and four (I thought) horizontal studs to nail the board cladding onto, and then the board cladding itself. It won't be wobbling directly, but it's probably best to increase the dimension and keep the vertical studs at cc 60...

I have access to approximately 20 x 20 cm posts that I've considered using directly under the trusses, maybe I should revisit that idea...
