Found this insulation under the bathroom floor. Does anyone know what it is?
There were some blocks, about 120x50 cm under the bathroom floor.

  • Insulation material made of intertwined wood wool fibers in rectangular block, found under a bathroom floor.
  • Concrete-textured insulation block found under bathroom floor, measuring approximately 120x50 cm.
Looks like a wood wool plate.

Wood wool board, wood wool, and cement.
I can't think of what they are usually called off the top of my head.

Träullit.

Sometimes seen in ceilings. Quite common. And not asbestos :)

Ouch ouch ouch.
You can't know for sure until it's sent for analysis. Put on Epafilter and disposable coveralls, then wet clean the entire house.

Sorry!
I couldn't help myself. 🙂

Straw and cement

Can also be found behind plaster in basement walls.

Thanks! Will be replaced with cellplast which should have significantly better insulation capability.

But be careful with the fit. Glass and stone wool are significantly easier to get nice without gaps.
