Hello!

Can anyone identify what type of building block this is? Built in the late forties as far as I know.

Initially thought it could be blåbetong, but it doesn't seem to have the characteristic cavities.

Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to measure right now.

Best regards,
Fyrtiofemgrader

  • A wall made of concrete blocks with visible mortar lines and some surface wear, possibly from a structure built in the late 1940s.
  • A close-up of a gray building block wall, possibly from the 1940s, with two white cables fastened over it and a small part of a wooden window frame visible.
  • Building blocks from the 1940s with a rough texture, possibly mistaken for aerated concrete, next to a blue electrical device.

Bluconcrete usually doesn't have cavities but is homogeneous, you're thinking of woodlice or concrete hollow blocks. What is in the picture looks like bluconcrete.

It looks like light concrete Siporex, which was somewhat lilac-blue in color for a while.

The one in the picture looks like blue concrete.
When I search for images online, blue concrete generally seems to be filled with smaller cavities, like a sponge.

In one of the pictures I attached (the one with the green box to the right), the structure seems more to consist of small beads.
