What kind of board is it?

Have searched without result... About to demolish the bathroom and want to know what type of boards are on the wall/ceiling. They are a few millimeters thick and rock hard. What is the board called? What is it made of? I know I tore off a similar board but in a different color in the kitchen a few years ago. Where it served as a backsplash above the sink.

The disc itself is harmless as far as I know.
