What is this pine strip that is in a 60s house?

Yes, it is a pine molding from the 60s-70s-80s sometime. There are an endless number of moldings like this, often produced fairly locally at some sawmill-planing mill. Getting hold of the same one in a lumber yard is probably impossible. Try neighbors with houses from the same vintage. Nothing in the attic?
No. Unfortunately, there's nothing like that lying around. I had hoped it was a standard molding that I could buy if I knew what it was called.Fotografen said:

There are still firms that copy moldings but then it depends on quantity versus price. If you're lucky, there is already a steel, so you avoid the cost of producing a new one. Then it depends on the total amount if it results in a reasonable price.
Actually, I don't need that much. Just around a door.PeterFalun said:
I thought it would be easy to get hold of. I never even thought that it wouldn't be standard; I imagined that if I just knew what they were called, I would find it right away. Now that it turns out to be a custom order, I think I'll forget trying to find the same moldings.
Honestly, I don't even think they're particularly nice.
I think I'll switch to regular plain moldings instead. It's probably not something anyone will notice anyway.
Contact for example Sörgårdens hyvleri in Tibro, they specialize in different types of moldings including the ability to produce new knives (or modify an older one if necessary.)V vickan11 said:
Get a profile gauge, press it against the molding and send them a photo.
Thanks for the tip. Good to know how I can proceed if I choose to do that. But I'll probably just give up and go for a simple and easily accessible molding instead.S skaraborgsfakir said:
