Construction workers are replacing doors in my housing row and I'm curious about this phenomenon: It sounds like they start a vacuum cleaner and after about 10 seconds, three hammer-like sounds are heard in succession. Does anyone know what kind of machine this is?
No possibility to just ask the carpenters?
I have no idea what kind of machine it is, but I own a battery-powered nail gun (Dewalt) that starts making a noise when you press it against the wood. I think that this is the sound you think sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

I would guess a gas-powered nail gun

Yes, it sounds more like a vacuum cleaner on speed because the sound reaches up to my floor. The hammering is more like sledgehammer strength and is always three in a row without exception. The fact that they chose to have their temporary workshop specifically in my building is fun when I spend my days on music recording.Denniis said:
