Do you want to restore the old wooden floor? I think it's a lost cause. It's probably already been condemned once. Maybe it's just a subfloor, maybe it was drafty, previously nailed, full of splinters, and so on. Probably not level at all either.
You should check with a floor sander if it's realistic to possibly sand it down.
If you take a drill and drill carefully, you can determine how thick the layer is.

Thank you for the reply. You are probably right that it's too late to bring out the old floors. It will probably need to be sanded evenly and apply a new nice floor.
Do you think regular floor sanding or more of a concrete sanding?

Isn't it even enough then? There should be good conditions if the laminate floor was even and nice.
