We are renovating the upstairs of our house; unfortunately, we can't get OSB or drywall boards up through the staircase inside the house as it is too narrow. The plan instead was to order boards with a crane truck that can lift them onto the balcony. But the pallet with boards will weigh about 1 ton.

Will the balcony/roof support this?

  • A yellow house with a red roof and a small balcony; scaffolding is visible. The discussion is about lifting heavy boards onto the balcony for renovation.
Build a scaffolding section outside and land the material on it. A ton is a lot of load on the small roof.

What kind of scaffolding can take that weight?

Let the truck hang with the load in the air while you unload? Just a bit of extra standing time...
Option 2 could be to send the boards up to someone up there who receives them?
