Hehe..! He puts the fish back in the water.... :o

Hi!
Got such great help from you here that I just wanted to share how it went with the house with a facade of masonite and rib. A little true story about starting prices and final prices in today's real estate market.....
The starting price for this property was 295'. The final price (hold on now) was 840'!!! :o Now I've been involved in so many auctions that end with more than double the starting price that it's starting to feel hopeless. Is it the starting prices that are wrong and so many properties not properly valued, or is the market overheated? ???
I've grown tired of realtors and bidding now anyway. Let's see if we can find something to buy directly from the property owner instead.
Take care and thanks again for all the help! :)

What you describe is very familiar. The real estate agents have received a lot of flak for this behavior. Selling properties is their livelihood. They should be knowledgeable enough about prices that they don't miss by as much as you are saying.

Of course, it unfortunately works like this, that they set a low starting price to attract a lot of people - so that the prices then get bid up significantly. It's similar to what we see with the large grocery store chains - they lure you in with a few discount coupons and trinkets, and when we go there and use them, it always ends up with a bunch of extra stuff in our cart 'while we're there'.

Anyway, it was really unfortunate to hear that you didn't have the opportunity to be there for the whole process since you seemed so motivated to get started :-/

Thank you, that was nicely said. It was a bit depressing for a while because I was so sure that house was meant for us... But we're going up today again to look at another house. It might be even better - and cheaper...! :-)

Have a great weekend!

The same! Please tell me how it's going and when any interesting 'project' comes up :)
