What do I fill a broken joint with?

The craftsmen who renovated the bathroom missed that there should never be a seam at the edge of a door. The result is that the joint doesn't hold, so the question is what can be put there instead? silicone? :

Most of it is probably covered by door trim? Otherwise, filler/sealant
