Hello!

I have a fireplace with a hidden chimney (it is in the kitchen) in the living room. However, the frame around and inside the fireplace is in red brick which I don't like. I want to plaster it and paint it white.

What materials and paint should I use?
I assume it gets quite warm there.

I also wonder how far into the opening I can plaster and paint?
Right now there is a kind of stove in the opening.

Does anyone know?

We have a chimney in the kitchen that we wanted to be white. My uncle, who is a painter, first filled it with regular wall filler, then I painted it with a special textured paint. It turned out well!

Regards, Terese

You should use a plaster mortar with quality C.

such as Finja puts o mur C or serpo 224
you can go all the way in if a cassette is installed.

Reviving an old question. Have you regretted it in any way? We bought Becker's texture paint today, and now my partner is reading that there's a risk of getting cut if you brush against it.
