I am planning a garage construction and have a question regarding the dimensioning of the roof beams. The roof will be a sloping roof type, so it's not exactly any advanced calculations needed. However, I've become unsure about what deflection is normally considered for a garage roof.
In programs (e.g., on byggbeskrivningar.se) and in various tables, I've seen both L/300 and L/200 mentioned as deflection in the dimensioning of a beam in a span. There's quite a significant difference in beam size between L/300 and L/200. Does anyone know what deflection is applicable?
