Hello!
Does anyone have any idea what this material could be? It's in the ceiling in a basement area that used to be a boiler room in an old house built in 1909. Painted white, but where they haven't been able to paint (like under the small cable piece), the color is more graphite gray.
Textured surface.
Could it be Asbestos?

Best regards,
Marcus

  • Textured wall panel with white and graphite gray areas, showing exposed section near a cable, possibly asbestos material in an old house basement ceiling.
With 99% certainty, eternit boards containing asbestos.

Ok, as I suspected. Is it a problem to have it in the house? I wasn't planning to tear it down in any way.

As long as it stays in place, it is harmless. If it's possible to pull out the nails and remove the boards whole, it is also harmless.

If you leave the panels alone, you won't have any problems with them; the danger comes if you start tearing them down.
